Their pristine and pleasant atmosphere, plus old-fashioned, friendly customer service are consistent every single time you visit, including carry-outs to your vehicle! First-rate customer service also means continuity of staff. “We have several loyal staff members who have been with us for well over 17 years,” co-owner Angie Scheid says. “That kind of longevity really drives that sense of family home and is extended to our customers and community who deserve our absolute best. We’re especially grateful to so many who continue to help us return to normal, after a recent fire at our meat plant. Local plants aided in bringing back the Scheid family recipes, such as our famous mild, spicy, sweet & spicy & Honey Garlic Pepperettes, smoked pork chops, fresh pork sausages, and many other items to the store and St. Jacob’s market. Have you tried Cloverleaf’s award-winning farmer sausage? That’s a story in itself! Dan Scheid was only 18 when he went to Germany to stay with family and learn the butcher trade. Returning home, he began making sausage in his basement and sold it at local markets, including St. Jacobs Market, where he soon discovered a demand for his homemade product. Over the years, his younger brother Peter; their parents, Manfred and Hilde; Peter’s wife, Angie, and her mom, Launi, joined this true family-owned operation. Besides their present location, Cloverleaf continues to have a presence at St. Jacob’s Market. “Our products contain no fillers and preservatives, MSG, wheat or milk,” Angie says. “We’re committed now as we were 33 years ago to producing items that have a quality, homemade taste.”
